Eileen M. Starr

Eileen Marie Starr, 96, of Litchfield, formerly of Nokomis and Irving, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 9:24 p.m. in HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  She was born on March 17, 1924, in Irving, IL, on the family farm, the daughter of William and Nellie (Skouby) Lorts.  Eileen married Frank Theodore Starr on January 28, 1966 in Fillmore.  He preceded her in death in 2002.  She worked as a sales clerk in Irving Grocery, Walker’s and Ben Franklin stores.  Eileen also waitressed at various local restaurants.  Eileen was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Nokomis.  She loved nature and liked to garden, both vegetables and flowers.  Eileen enjoyed her cats, cooking, sewing, and mushroom hunting.  She enjoyed having company, spending time with her family who she cherished, listening to Gospel music, and making others happy.  Eileen is survived by:

1 daughter, Nance (Kent) Breuchaud of Litchfield

1 step-daughter, Diane Eatmon of Muldrow, OK

1 step-son, Tom (Sue) Starr of Pocahontas, IL

3 grandchildren, Joseph (Dora) Matich, Tim Matich, Laura Matich

2 great-grandchildren, Ethan Melton & Tesa Toney

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; 2 brothers Wilmer & Clyde Lorts.

Memorial services for Eileen will be announced at a later date.

The family suggests memorials to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
