Surrounded by his loving family, Dr. Ronald Graiff, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully on Sun., Mar. 4, 2018 at Evelyn’s House, a BJC Hospice Organization in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Dr. Graiff was born on Mar. 13, 1938 in Litchfield Illinois, the son of Albert and Edith (Libbra) Graiff. He attended Christian Brothers College High School in St Louis and St Louis University College of Dentistry. After his schooling, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he completed his dental residency.
Upon his return from the service, he opened his dental office on West Ryder Street in Litchfield in 1964 where he practiced dentistry for almost 40 years.
He married Elaine Spudich on Jan. 28, 1967 in St. Joseph’s Church in Benld, IL. She survives.
After his retirement, he continued providing dental screenings for low income children in neighboring school districts working side-by-side with Elaine, his loving wife of 51 years.
He was an avid golfer winning the Litchfield Club Championship a record fifteen times during his career. Besides coaching his three children, he also shared his love of the game with his grandchildren.
Dr. Graiff was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, his work and his golf. He is survived by his wife Elaine, his three children Tracy (Tom) Wright, Bryan (Dana) Graiff and Brad (Amy) Graiff. He also delighted in his six grandchildren: Connor, Natalie, Ryan, Roman, Maya and Brayden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Fri., Mar. 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. Fr. Dan Willenborg will preside. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service. The family suggests memorials to American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 1415 Elbridge Payne Suite 150, Chesterfield, MO, 63017, Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield or the Litchfield Food Pantry.
