Dorothy Marie Miller, age 89, passed away March 19, 2026, at her residence in College Station, Texas. She had formerly resided in Litchfield, IL and Berea, KY. Mrs. Miller was born to the late Norman and Helen (Johnson) Schuette in Litchfield, Montgomery County, Illinois, on March 5, 1937. Dorothy was the wife of the late John Edwin Miller, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage until his passing.
Mrs. Miller was a long-time employee of the Berea Citizen Newspaper and is remembered for her involvement with many local organizations from PTO and the League of Women Voters to the BCHS Band Boosters.
Mrs. Miller enjoyed cooking, gardening, and extensive travel adventures with her husband, Edwin. An avid animal lover, Mrs. Miller was a world-class cat lover. Mrs. Miller was of the Lutheran faith, attending St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lexington, KY.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, John “Jack” Miller of Bryan, TX, Michael Miller of Richmond, KY, and one grandson, Zachary Miller of Tomball, TX.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lehnert and daughter-in-law Debra Miller.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1301 N State St., Litchfield. Pastor Fred Kraemer will officiate. Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield.
