Doris Ellen Fenton, 89, of Edgerton, WI, formerly of Litchfield, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Madison, WI. She was born December 8, 1934, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Dewight and Josephine (Kell) Lindsay. She graduated from Coffeen, IL High School with the Class of 1952. She and Clarence Everett Fenton met at their church and were married on June 26, 1954, at Mt. Moriah Church in Coffeen, IL. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage, celebrating their 70th anniversary together this year. Doris was employed as an executive secretary at International Paper/CPC Rexcel in Litchfield. After moving to Wisconsin with her family, she attended First Baptist Church in Ft. Atkinson, WI. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Newville Quilters Club. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, and spending time in her garden. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She will be remembered for her faith, caring personality, and playful sense of humor.

Two sons, Rick Fenton of Maryville, IL, and Gary (DeAnna) Fenton of Edgerton, WI
4 grandchildren, Amanda (Shane) Rothermich; Erik (Leigha) Fenton; Corinne (Kevin) Fenton-Talley; and Lydia Fenton
4 great-grandchildren, Josephine; Levi; Declan; and Brooks.
Mrs. Fenton was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Jan (Pries) Fenton
Funeral services for Mrs. Fenton will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield, IL. Rev. David Neal will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be made out to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
