Donald Ray Randle, 94, of Olney, formerly of Walshville, passed away on Tues., Aug. 25, 2020 at 9:03 a.m. in Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. He was born on Nov. 12, 1925, in Walshville, IL, a son of Lorenzo “Louis” Ray and Margaret Mae (Hicks) Randle. Mr. Randle was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, Asiatic - Pacific Theater. Mr. Randle was recently presented with the Quilt of Valor for his service and sacrifice to our nation. He married the former Ethel Mae Jones on Dec. 14, 1946 in Litchfield, IL. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 2007. Mr. Randle was a farmer most of his life. He previously worked for Illinois Lottery and Knox Trucking in Springfield. He was a member of Walshville Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #436 in Litchfield. In his younger years, Mr. Randle enjoyed bowling. He is survived by:

Mr. Randle was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel; 2 sons, Ronald Ray Randle; Dennis Franklin Randle; 4 brothers, Kenneth Randle; Maurice Randle; Shirley Randle; Charles L. Randle; 7 sisters, Pauline Faulkner; Lorene Lay; Lois Payne; Helen Vollintine; Wilma Priddle; Bernice Aikman; Charlotte Titsworth; 2 grandchildren, Robert William Tabaka; Steven Ray Tabaka.
Graveside services for Mr. Randle will be held on Sat., Aug. 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento, IL. Rev. Rudy Elam of Walshville Baptist Church will officiate. Private family viewing will be held before the services. There will be a funeral procession line up at Plummer Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Donor’s Choice. Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing rules apply, and masks will be required.
