Dennis E. Nail

Dennis Earl Nail, 59, of Litchfield, Passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 5:25p.m., at his home. 

Born in Litchfield July 24, 1960, to Earl Leroy and Beverly June (Yemm) Nail.  Dennis graduated from Litchfield Community High School with the Class of 1978.

 Prior to entering college, Dennis served a two year mission in Chile for his Church.  Upon completion of his mission, Dennis entered Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Education.  Dennis taught Spanish and world history for several years in Utah, California and Illinois.  For the past several years Dennis was a cashier at the Litchfield Wal-Mart where he enjoyed interacting with his customers. 

Dennis Loved the Lord and His Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he was the Organist.  Dennis had a love for music.  He enjoyed reading and writing in his daily journal.  He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of history and having general conversations with people.  Dennis was known to be an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and could deliver the statistics of any Cardinal Player.  He also loved watching Jeopardy.

Six daughters:  Lola Marie Nail, of CA., Shannon Nail, of CA., Rachel Nail of AZ., Danielle Nail of CA., Wendy Nail of ID., Rebecca Nail of CA.

A brother, Greg Nail of Litchfield

2 sisters:  Diane (Steve) Gausepohl of Mt. Olive, IL

                  Shera  (Mark) Hunt of Litchfield, IL

A granddaughter, Naomi Nail, Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Earl, and a niece Cassie Horrocks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Litchfield.  Bishop Lonnie Bruce will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until the time of the service at the Church.  The family suggests memorials to the Litchfield Public Library.
