Deanna Dean Heisman, 82, of Litchfield, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, October 25, 2025. She was born January 5, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of John Dean and Juanita Gladys (Langley) Nessl. Deanna graduated from Gillespie High School with the class of 1961. She married Robert Charles Heisman on July 14, 1962, in Gillespie, and they divorced in 1979. She and Jim Gipson, Sr. enjoyed many happy years of companionship before his passing. She was employed with Echlin-Dana Brake Parts as an inspection group leader and retired after 30 years of faithful service. Deanna was an active member of the Christian Church of Litchfield, serving in various capacities through the years. She was an avid sports fan, particularly of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed traveling to various baseball stadiums while following them. She was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Deanna was a voracious reader.
She is survived by:
Two daughters, Laura (David) Cox of Mt. Olive, IL and Tamara Bond of Litchfield
Two brothers, Gordon (Irene) Nessl of Litchfield and Keith (Kim) Nessl of North Carolina
Six grandchildren, David (Danielle) Cox, Robert (Meagan) Cox, Charles (Julie) Cox, Jason (Tracey) Cox, Zackary (Jennifer) Bond, and Kevin (companion Gina) Bond
Fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Juanita G. Nessl, companion Jim Gipson, Sr., brothers John D. Nessl, Jr. and Roger Nessl, and sister-in-law Sharon Nessl.
Funeral services for Deanna will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Church of Litchfield, 131 Yaeger Lake Trail. Pastor Tim Barbee will officiate. Burial will follow in Benld Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Family and friends are encouraged to wear STL Cardinals baseball attire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Olive Sports and Recreation or Litchfield Public Library.
