David Wayne Hampton

David Wayne Hampton, 59, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. David was born April 25, 1965, in Litchfield, a son of Allen “Al” Clyde and Betty Jean (Gooden) Hampton. David was employed in end-of-line production at Dometic in Litchfield. He enjoyed reading, especially SCI-FI and mysteries, watching movies and Unsolved Mysteries, stock cars and watching drag racing. He was a member of Cornerstone Church in Litchfield.

David is survived by:

3 brothers, Michael A. (Shirley) Hampton of Litchfield; James W. Hampton of Carlinville; and Larry D. Hampton Litchfield

2 sisters, Gloria J. Naughton of Fremont, NE and Susan M. Hosto of Oelwein, IA

His partner, Sally Scoggins of Carlinville.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, December 15, 2009; his father, Al, April 11, 2019; and brothers-in-law Alan Naughton and Larry Hosto.

Services for David will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to David’s family to help with funeral expenses.
