David Bandy

David Bandy, 81, of Fairview Heights, Illinois passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Henderson, Arkansas. He was born on October 28, 1943, in Litchfield, Illinois to Jesse and Freda (Wanger) Bandy. David married Sharon Bandy on March 14, 1965, in Litchfield, Illinois. He was a civil engineer for over forty years. David was a volunteer at the Fairview Heights Police Department, as well as Fire and Police Commissioner for the City of Fairview Heights, Illinois. He enjoyed building bird houses, making pepper jelly for friends and fishing. What David enjoyed most, was spending time with his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas Bandy. He is survived by his wife, Sharon K. Bandy; one son, Timothy Bandy; one daughter, Sara Braswell and her husband, Brian; seven grandchildren, Patrick Bandy and his wife, Kelly, Nicole Bandy, Dalton Bandy and his significant other, Aunna Brown, Jacqueline Bandy, Takoda Gregory, Drew Braswell and Grace Braswell; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Madison, Rowlan “Booger” and Carter; one sister, Jane Waters and her husband, Dean and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Henderson, AR First Baptist Church, 13605 Highway 62 East, Henderson, AR 72544. A 2nd celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Christ Church, Collinsville Campus, 1908 Vandalia Street, Collinsville, IL 62234.
