Darrell L. Johnson

Darrell Lee Johnson, 83, of Litchfield, passed away on Thurs., Jan. 14, 2021 at 2:50 a.m. at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Carlinville.  He was born on June 24, 1937, a son of Vergil and Nellie Irene (McNichols) Johnson.  He graduated from Osceola High School with the Class of 1956.  Darrell later went on to Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO where he studied Christian Education and earned his Bachelor’s Degree.  Mr. Johnson was a Computer Programmer with Scripture Press; later known as David C. Cook Publications.  He worked there for 30 years until his retirement.  He married the former Annabelle Ramel on March 31, 1961 in Chesterfield, IL.  She survives.  In his younger years, Darrell enjoyed playing basketball and bowling.  He enjoyed watching football and other sports.  In addition to his wife, Annabelle, he is survived by:

1 son, David Johnson of Wheaton, IL

1 sister, Marjorie (Dale) Kruse of Osceola, IA

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 brother, Keith Johnson.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and no services will be held.
