Danny Charles Leonard, Jr., 54, of New Douglas, IL, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, in Benld, IL. He was born May 28, 1969, a son of Danny C. Leonard, Sr., and Carolyn J. (Lyons) Leonard. Danny was employed as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing and riding dirt bikes. He married Melanie Leonard, and she preceded him in death May 27, 2023.

His father and step-mother, Danny (Jan) Leonard, Sr. of Litchfield

His step-grandmother, Marvella Mierkowski of Litchfield

1 son, Cole Leonard of Mt. Clare, IL

3 daughters, Rebecca (Sean) Cross of Meade, KS; Danielle Leonard of Casper, WY; and Courtney Leonard of Worden, IL

2 sisters, Jackie (Bryan) Cowley of Port Richey, FL and Sherry (Dan) Weeding of Gillette, WY

7 grandchildren, Ariana Lyons, Macie Williams, Maddox Lucero, Samuel Trebing, Aliehna Ruckel, Johnny Tallman, and Arthur Cross.

In addition to his wife, Melanie, Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn J. Leonard; paternal grandparents Chris Leonard, Dorothy Parsons, Mel Parsons and William Grindley; maternal grandparents William Lyons and Edith Lyons; and a grandson, Levi Lucero.

Services for Danny C. Leonard, Jr., will be held at a later date.
