Clarence Everett Fenton, 89, of Edgerton, WI, formerly of Litchfield, IL, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, in Janesville, WI. He was born October 12, 1935, in Walshville, IL, the son of William George and Marie Opal (Hemken) Fenton. He obtained his GED later in life while working full time with 2 children. He and Doris Ellen Lindsay met at her church during a revival and were married on June 26, 1954, at Mt. Moriah Church in Coffeen, IL. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage, celebrating their 70th anniversary together last year. Clarence was employed as a concrete truck driver in Litchfield. After moving to Wisconsin with his family, he attended First Baptist Church in Ft. Atkinson, WI. He was an excellent hunter most of his life. He enjoyed hunting, cars and could repair most things with an engine or mechanical items, and spending time in the garden and yard. Clarence was a member of a gospel singing group for over 20 years. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He will be remembered for his Christian faith, helpfulness, outgoing personality and his love of God.

Two sons, Rick Fenton of Maryville, IL, and Gary (DeAnna) Fenton of Edgerton, WI
A brother, Marvin Fenton of Nokomis, IL
A sister, Velma Speed of Brook, IN
4 grandchildren, Amanda (Shane) Rothermich; Erik (Leigha) Fenton; Corinne (Kevin) Fenton-Talley; and Lydia Fenton
4 great-grandchildren, Josephine; Levi; Declan; and Brooks.
Mr. Fenton was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Lindsay) Fenton, his parents, his siblings, Melvin L. Fenton, Harold “Frog” Fenton, Rev. Elmer Fenton, Irene Ryan, and Nola Nadine Hancock, and a daughter-in-law, Jan (Pries) Fenton
Funeral services for Mr. Fenton will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield, IL. Rev. David Neal will officiate. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
