Charles Edward Estes

Charles Edward Estes, 71, of Litchfield, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at 5:40 A.M., at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. 

He was born April 2, 1952 in Murfreesboro, TN, the son of Charlie and Frances (Markum) Estes. Mr. Estes was a professional truck driver for several years.  He then worked in the office as freight dispatcher and safety director.   He enjoyed working around his house and yard, gardening, and spending time outside with his family and pets.

Mr. Estes married the former Virginia Sue Askins on October 1, 1976 in Monticello, IL and she survives.  He also leaves two daughters, Hilary Estes and Stacie Estes both of St. Peters, MO. Three grandchildren, Payden Estes, Alivia Estes, and Sampson Estes – Collins.

Mr. Estes is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leon Markum.

No services are planned at his time.  The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Lupus Foundation.
