Catherine Louise (Gorman) Keith

Catherine Louise Keith, 89, of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born in Litchfield on January 26, 1936, a daughter of John Edwin and Marie Gertrude (Daly) Gorman. She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1954. She married Clinton Lafayette Keith on October 19, 1962, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Litchfield. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1996. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Mrs. Keith was a familiar face at Litchfield Carnegie Public Library, where she faithfully served as assistant librarian for 35 years, and was able to share her love of reading with many local library patrons. She loved spending time with her family, was an excellent cook, and loved her pet cats, and her dog, Moe. Monday mornings found her having coffee with her friends at Jubelt’s and she enjoyed taking day trips with those same friends.

Her sons, Tom (Dee) Keith of Litchfield and Greg (Pam) Keith of Staunton

Her daughters, Julie (Terry) Clark of Evansville, IN and Jean (Michael) Elmore of Litchfield

A sister, Mary Frances Gorman of Litchfield

Grandchildren, Alyssa (David) Gipson, Kelly (Kyle Rempe) Clark, Morgan Keith, and Mallory (Anthony Vecchetti) Clark

Step grandson, Lonnie Chesney

Great grandchildren, Oliver and Isaac

Mrs. Keith was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Gorman, her husband, Clinton Keith, and a brother, Thomas Gorman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. Fr. Daniel Willenborg will preside. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield, with the Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Litchfield Public Library District, 1205 S.
