Carolyn “Midge” Orzel

Carolyn LaVonne “Midge” Orzel, 80, of Litchfield, passed away on Sun., Sept. 12, 2021 at 6:50 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.  She was born on Feb. 1, 1941, in Litchfield, a daughter of Walter Joseph and Mamie B. (DeWitt) Orzel.  In her earlier years, Midge worked at WEPCO Manufacturing and Roller Derby Skate Corp. in Litchfield.  She later was a waitress at Burger Chef / The Hut in Litchfield.  Midge married Charles "Gene" Wright in California, and they later divorced.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3912 and Women of the Moose in Litchfield.  Midge enjoyed astronomy, numerology, reading the newspaper, and she was an excellent cook.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She is survived by:

Daughter, Teresa (David) Lewey

2 grandchildren, Steve (Laurie) Lewey & Kevin Lewey ALL of Litchfield

1 great-grandchild, Honor Lewey

Several nieces & nephews

Midge was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Carl “Bob” Roach & John Orzel.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Fri., Sept. 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Rev. Gary Schwab will officiate. 

Cremation rites will be accorded.
