Calvin Dean Jones

Calvin Dean Jones, 76, of Butler, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at John J. Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born in Falcon, MO, a son of Leaford Guy and Alveta Fay (Pearcy) Jones. He graduated from Pawnee (Illinois) High School and from several John Deere Mechanics Schools. Calvin was a talented mechanic and employed through the years at CJ’s Ag Repair and several John Deere dealerships.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He married the former Keiko Keinkawa on August 7, 1972, in Hillsboro, IL, and she survives. He enjoyed farming, participating in tractor pulls, and was a skilled deer hunter and was a huge fan of Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. His rescue puppies brought him so much joy. Above all, he loved gathering together with friends, family, and his puppies.

Sisters, June (Lee) Duffy of Chatham, Glenda Mosser of Litchfield, Coleen Woelfel and Cheryl Maxson, both of Mt. Olive

His beloved puppies, Rocky, Callie, Vegas, Max and Marla

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leaford G. Jones and Alveta F. Jones, and siblings, Larry Jones, Dennis Jones, Robert Jones, Phyllis Riech, and Velda Daugherty.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Paul Rose of Calvary Church in Springfield, IL, will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be held at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
