Bill Eugene Crabtree, 75, of Litchfield, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He was born May 14, 1950, in Litchfield, a son of Forrest Eugene and Mary Alice (Christopher) Crabtree. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1968. Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam era. He was employed with Dana Brake Parts for many years, and had also worked at Hillsboro Glass and Litchfield Wal-Mart. Bill and the former Christine E. Biermann were married February 24, 1981. She preceded him in death February 18, 2022. He was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 436.

Sisters, Connie (Ken) Grogan of Washington, IL and Margaret “Maggie” Knutson of Litchfield
Sister-in-law Janice Crabtree of Litchfield

Bill was preceded in death by parents, Forrest E. and Mary A. Crabtree; wife, Christine Crabtree; brother, James Crabtree; and grandsons Tyler and Georgie.
Funeral services for Bill will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Judy Vidakovich of St. Timothy United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Family of Bill Crabtree, c/o Matthew Crabtree.
