Beverly C. Schaff

Beverly Carol Schaff, 81, of Litchfield, passed away on Mon., Aug. 16, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  She was born on Nov. 7, 1939, in Davenport, NE, a daughter of Albert and Freida (Ahrens) Hoins.  Beverly graduated from Waverly-Shellrock High School in Waverly, IA.  She then went on to attend college for a year.  She later became a Teachers Aid.  Beverly married Rev. Rudolph Herbert Schaff, Jr. on May 6, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waverly, IA.  He preceded her in death on April 14, 2011.  She dedicated her time to being a homemaker.  Beverly worked in Bangladesh together with her husband in the mission field.  Beverly was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  She loved gardening, reading her Bible, listening to music, and playing the piano.  She is survived by:

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph; 4 brothers, Victor; Lavern; & Hubert; and infant brother, Leroy Hoins.

Funeral services will be held on Fri., Aug. 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  Rev. Fred Kraemer will officiate.  Burial will be on Sun., Aug. 29, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Valentine, NE.  Visitation will be held Thurs., Aug. 26, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Mission Central Attn: Gary W. Thies 40718 Hwy E16, Mapleton, IA 51034, or the Tuition Aid Fund at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
