Betty Simonton

Betty Lou Simonton, 94, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Gillespie, passed away on Mon., Dec. 20, 2021 at 1:17 p.m. at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, MO.  She was born on Mar. 16, 1927, in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Arthur and Lula (Tipsword) Young.  Betty dedicated her time to being a homemaker.  In her earlier years, she worked at Precission Manufacturing later known as Roller Derby Skate Corp. in Litchfield.  She married Virgil Don Simonton on Aug. 9, 1945 in Hillsboro.  He preceded her in death on May 6, 2011.  Betty was an avid reader.  She is survived by:

In addition to her husband Virgil, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Leatrice Portwood.

Graveside funeral service will be held on Tues., Dec. 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.  A funeral procession will line up at Plummer Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery.  Memorials may be designated to Adopt-A-Pet in Benld.
