Betty Jeanne (Woods) Buske

Betty Jeanne Buske, 94, of Litchfield, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 7:20 a.m. at the Litchfield Health and Rehab Center.   Born January, 26, 1930 in St. Louis, MO., A daughter of Jack C. and Retha E. (Hine) Woods.  She graduated from Litchfield Community High School, Class of 1948.  She married Harold William Buske on January 24, 1948 at Mt. Olive, IL. Mr. Buske passed away August 21, 2017. 

Mrs. Buske was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield.  She was a longtime member of the Litchfield Country Club, and a past member of the Beta Phi Sigma Sorority.

Surviving are her sons, William Buske of Virden, IL., Jim (Beth) Buske of Decatur, IL., and Walter Buske of Litchfield.  Nine grandchildren; Lisa Cox, Matt (Jana) Buske, Kate Lay, Jennifer (Brian) Hair, Emily (Brian) Turk, Tim Buske, Adrienne (Pat) Conzemius, Grant (Melissa) Buske and Alyssa Buske. Fifteen great grandchildren, and one great grandson

In addition to her husband, Harold, Mrs. Buske is preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Jacqueline and Bill Roach.

Funeral services for Mrs. Buske will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Mrs. Lynne Taylor, Ministerial Chairperson of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.    The family suggests memorials be directed to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
