Bettie Mae McCullah, 90, of Hillsboro, formerly of Litchfield, passed away Wed., June 27, 2018 in Montgomery Nursing & Rehab Center in Taylor Springs. She was born on May 17, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Frank E. & Mabel (Schultz) Dion. She graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee with the Class of 1946 and obtained her B.S. in Education from SIU-C. She was an Elementary Teacher for 29 years teaching in Carlyle, Panama, Donnellson & Litchfield School Districts. While in Litchfield, she taught at Madison Park School. She also taught at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro. Bettie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield. She was also a member of NEA-IEA & Montgomery County Retired Teachers. In her leisure time, she enjoyed collecting antiques, floral gardening, sewing and attracting birds to her home. She married George James McCullah on Jan. 2, 1954 in Greenville, IL. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1991. She is survived by:

Graveside memorial services will be held Sat., July 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Greenville. Rev. Ralph Ward will officiate. No visitation will be held. The family suggests memorials to PAWS Care of Montgomery County or Coats For Kids.
