Anita Booher, 75, of Litchfield, passed away unexpectedly at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, at 5:55 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025. Ms. Booher was born in Kern, Germany, on March 17, 1950, a daughter of Vernus and Else (Meng) Meier. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and shopping with her sister. She enjoyed fellowship at Litchfield Moose Lodge, Litchfield VFW, and Amvets.
Anita is survived by:
3 sons; David (Sherry) Estell of Irving, James (Dawn) Estell of Decatur, & Matthew Hanafin of Troy
2 daughters; Lisa (Dave) Lindsay of Litchfield, and Karin (Ronald) Lowery of Gillespie
Her sister; Karen (Jeff) Marion of Mt. Olive
15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, & 5 great-great grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by former husbands, Donald Estell and Ronald Booher, her daughter Diana Hanafin, grandson Jason Lucykow and granddaughter Ashley Lucykow.
A dinner for friends and family to remember Anita will be held at 12:00 noon, Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Litchfield VFW.
