Angie Rhoads Obituary

M. Angie Rhoads, 53, of Fredericksburg, Va., passed away peacefully at her home with her family and friends by her side.

Angie was born in Nuremberg, Germany to Solomon and Cathedia Rose. Her father was stationed in Nuremberg as a Corporal in the US Army, but the family moved to many other duty stations during her childhood. Angie graduated from Spring Valley High, Columbia, SC., and enlisted in the US Army. She was stationed at multiple duty stations before she met the love of her life, Stephen, at Fort Lewis, WA. Angie had achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant by that time. Stephen and Angie were then engaged and transferred together to the Washington, D.C. area in 2008. They confirmed their love in front of God and their families and married on August 22, 2015. She last worked as a Senior Logistics Specialist and Property Book Officer for The Army Aviation Brigade (TAAB) at Fort Belvoir. Angie retired from the US Army in November 2020 as a Sergeant Major.

Her personality was larger than life. She was smart, witty, very classy and beautiful, an extrovert, and had a huge heart for others. Angie would open her home to people and help anyone who needed it. She was giving in all ways and a friend that everyone wanted to have. Above all else, Angie was the hostess with the mostest - she threw legendary parties that will be missed by many.

Angie is survived by loving husband, Stephen; her children, Vanita Charnice Morrison, Marcos Antonio Gonzalez, Grace Olivia Young, and Lillian Noel Rhoads; her granddaughter, Aviyah Michelle Octavia Taylor; her siblings, James Maurice Rose (Julia), Lafechia Rose, Solomon James Rose III (Paola), Demetrice Yvonne Lomperski, and Adrian Armstrong (Audra); her sister-in-law, Wendy Dawn Prater; her father-in-law, S. Joe Rhoads; many nieces, nephews, friends and other loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her mother-in-law, Gloria Jeane Rhoads.
