Amanda J. Rhoads

Amanda Jo Rhoads, 36, of Ashland, IL., passed away on Sat., July 24, 2021 at 2:46 a.m. in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  She was born on July 25, 1984, in Paris, IL., a daughter of Stephen Joseph and Gloria Jeane (Field) Rhoads.  Amanda graduated from A-C Central High School with the Class of 2002.  She attended Judson College in Elgin, Illinois. She was a teacher’s aide with the A-C Central School District. She was a member of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Ashland.  Amanda enjoyed singing and doing arts and crafts.

She is survived by:

Her father, Joe Rhoads, of Ashland

1 daughter, Caray Jo Rhoads, of Ashland

1 brother, Stephen J (Angie) Rhoads of Fredericksburg, VA

1 sister, Wendy Prater of Fredericksburg, VA

5 nieces and nephews, Chrystal Haselett; Marcos Gonzalez; Grace Young; Lilian Rhoads; Wyatt Prater

Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria and her grandparents; Bob & Rosalie Towel and Donald & Mary Jane Rhoads.

Funeral services for Amanda will be held on Sat., Aug. 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Ashland. (201 E. Buchanan St. Ashland, IL.)  Rev. Darin Peterson will officiate.  Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Hart Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the church.  Memorials may be designated to New Beginnings Christian Fellowship -- Caray Rhoads Community Benefit or St. John’s Breadline in Springfield.
