Aloys "Al" Huene

Aloys Lawrence “Al” Huene, 79, of Litchfield, passed away on Sat., Dec. 11, 2021 at 7:25 a.m. at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Carlinville.  He was born on May 9, 1942, in Breese, IL, a son of Alois Bernard and Helen Margaret (Marcus) Huene.  Al was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was an Electronics Technician (ETN3).  He served on board the USS Wasp (CVS 18); the last U.S. Navy wooden deck aircraft carrier to serve in the fleet.  Al married Janet Lorene Buehler in 1965.  They later divorced.  He later married Linda Marie Houba.  They also later divorced.  Al married Brenda Lea Wilson in 2003.  She survives.  Al was an Entrepreneur, and self-employed over the years.  He was owner of the Blue White Chemical Co. selling chemicals and supplies to laundries and restaurants.  He was a sales agent for Federated Insurance Co.  He had a sales route for Red Baron Pizza, and was a salesman for Ponder Equipment Co. selling commercial buses, and for Quality Drive Away of Goshen, IN.; delivering motor homes and other equipment around the country.  Al worked for Basler Electric Co., in Highland and for AT&T as a Communications Engineer.  Mr. Huene and his wife Brenda owned and operated Gabby’s Bar and Stroker’s in Litchfield, and later sold the businesses.  Al was the Administrator of the Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634 for the past several years.  He enjoyed playing pool and playing in pool tournaments.  In addition to his wife Brenda, Mr. Huene is survived by:

3 sons, Christopher (Trina) Huene; Greg (Kirsten) Huene; both of Edwardsville; Roy W. Wilson, III of Gillespie

Daughter, Amy Wilson (companion, Robert McDonald) of Litchfield

Brother, David (Barb) Huene of Cumming, GA

9 grandchildren, Allison & Trevor Huene; Dakota; Desire’; & Danielle Huene; Jordyne & Haylee Willis; Wesley McDonald; Emma Wilson

Mr. Huene was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Dee Borgelt.

Funeral service will be held on Sat., Jan. 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Cremation will follow the services.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be designated to the family of Al Huene c/o Brenda Huene to help with funeral expenses.
