Alma Ruth Johnson

Alma Ruth Johnson, 95, of Litchfield, passed away on Thurs., March 18, 2021 at 11:06 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  She was born on Jan. 31, 1926, in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Leslie Wayne and Hazel Alma (Boden) Sharp.  Alma graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1943.  She was a bookkeeper for Austin-Shrader Hardware from 1969 – 1986 upon them closing.  She later worked part-time at Plummer Funeral Home, Montgomery Place, Litchfield Floral, and at Yellowstone National Park in the summers of 1987 – 1993.  Alma married Harwell C. Johnson in 1945.  They later divorced.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Litchfield where she participated in the J.O.Y. Class.  Alma enjoyed volunteering her time for Hearts United, being with her family, and she loved to garden.  She is survived by:

              Jerald (Janice) Johnson of Crete, IL

              Lloyd “Peanut” (Marci) Johnson of Litchfield

              Robert A. (Cathy) Johnson of Litchfield

1 daughter, Carol (Robert) Sneed of Litchfield

Alma was preceded in death by her parents; Daughter-in-law, Cinda Sue Johnson; 3 brothers, Wayne Sharp; Robert Sharp; Kenneth “Gordy” Sharp; 1 sister, Nellie Swanson.

Funeral services for Alma will be held on Sun., March 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Rev. Jason Plumer of the First Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home.  Due to CDC guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.
