Alice M. Parrish

Alice Marie Parrish, 91, of Litchfield, passed away on Sat., Oct. 16, 2021 at 6:05 a.m. at Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  She was born on Sept. 10, 1930, in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Harry Morris and Eva Marie (Heyen) Wolfe.  Alice graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1948.  She married Robert Glenn Parrish on Oct. 28, 1950 at the Methodist Parsonage in Litchfield.  He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 2018.  She dedicated her time to being a housewife.  In her early years, she worked part-time as a bookkeeper for Hermsmeyer Oil and North Litchfield Twp. in Litchfield.  Alice was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, where she was active with the Altar Guild.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 60 years, the Library Board in Litchfield, and was a blood bank volunteer in Litchfield.  Alice enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, crosswords, traveling, being with her family, and was an avid reader.  She is survived by:

1 daughter, Mary Beth (David) Taylor of Litchfield

1 son, Mark Parrish of Litchfield

1 brother, William Wolfe of Panama City, FL

2 grandchildren, Kara Taylor Shaw of The Colony, TX; Kyle Taylor of Litchfield

1 great-granddaughter, Jade Marie Taylor of Litchfield

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 1 brother, Byron Black; 2 sisters, Evelyn Acuncius; and Vernadean Maness.

Memorial services will be held on Sat., Oct. 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church (824 N. Monroe St.) in Litchfield.  Rev. Cynthia Munker will officiate.  Inurnment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.  Masks will be required for those attending, and social distancing will be observed.  A Luncheon will follow the burial in the church fellowship hall.  Memorials may be designated to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
