Aldena May Pluhm, 91, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday evening, May 8, 2021, at 5:03 p.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
She was born on August 8, 1929 at the family farm in rural Farmersville, IL., the daughter of Henry F. and Martha L. (Cutter) Riemann. She was a graduate of Farmersville High School, Class of 1947. She married Preston M. Brown on July 31, 1950 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Farmersville. Mr. Brown passed away April 13, 1977. She then married Roy H. Pluhm on September 24, 1994 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gillespie. Mr. Pluhm passed away May 17, 2012.
Mrs. Pluhm was a very hard working woman, in order to provide for her family. She was employed by the State of Illinois in the former Dept. of Traffic, Several Years at J.C. Penny in Springfield, and her last employment was with Echlin Manufacturing in Litchfield as a parts inspector.
She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, sewing and doing crafts. She also enjoyed traveling when she could. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church of Litchfield and a member of Zion Ladies Aid.
Surviving are; her son, Preston (Leetha) Brown, Jr. of Carlinville, IL. Her daughter, Janice (Jim) Meisenheimer of Glidden, WI
Step sons; Carl Pluhm of Tampa, FL and Frank Pluhm of Sycamore, IL
Step daughters; Faye (Rev. Larry L. Hintz) of Appleton, WI and Ann Gonterman (fiance’ Paul Earley) of Pawnee, IL.
Grandchildren; Valerie (Matt) Belusko, Steven Clemonds and Alex Brown.
Great grandchildren; Allison and Payton Belusko.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Pluhm is preceded in death by a son, James Brown, daughters Deborah and Susan, brothers Harry, Gilbert and Alfred Riemann.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pluhm will be conducted Tuesday, May 11,2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. The Rev. Fred Kraemer will officiate and burial will be in the Rovey Cemetery in Farmersville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
The family suggests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church or School, or Radio station KFUO in St. Louis.
