Velma L. (Ellis) DeWitt

Velma Louise DeWitt, 78, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2018 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital at 10:46 a.m. in Springfield, IL.

Born November 29, 1939. A daughter of Thomas Erman and Frances (Lewis) Ellis. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School.  Ms. DeWitt was a caregiver and worked for Complete Care Healthcare for several years until her retirement.

Surviving are:  Her son; Thomas J. DeWitt, A brother; Earl (Joann) Ellis of Hillsboro, 2 sisters; Ruby Ellis and Edith Kunz both of Litchfield and her beloved grandchildren; Alicia, Alainna and Brenden DeWitt, A great grandson; Dylan DeWitt all of Litchfield

Ms. DeWitt is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; Infant Robert, Dale and Wayne Ellis. And a sister; Virginia Whitworth.

Funeral Services for Ms. DeWitt will be conducted Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Burial will be in the Irving Cemetery, Irving, IL Friends may call Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00p.m. at Plummer’s.
