Susan B. Sumpter-Zoschke

Susan Beth Sumpter-Zoschke, 56, of Litchfield, passed away Tues., May 14, 2019 at 7:12 a.m. in HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  She was born on July 21, 1962 in Litchfield, the daughter of William Otto & Betty (Sendig) Sumpter.  She graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1980.  She then attended nursing school at SIU–E and obtained her B.S. in Nursing in 1984.  She worked at Hillsboro Area Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the OB-GYN Department.  She married Marc Alan Zoschke on Mar. 30, 1985 in St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.  She was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church. Susan enjoyed boating, gardening, doing needlepoint and crocheting.  Besides her parents, she is survived by:

   2 daughters,            Kristina (Josh) Waggoner of Springfield

                                    Samantha (Dennis, III) Hamilton of Pleasant Plains

   1 brother,                 David Sumpter of Litchfield

   4 grandchildren,      Zoey & Dennis Hamilton IV;

                                    Eli & Isaak Waggoner

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rudy & Ollie Sendig & Norman & Vera Sumpter.

Funeral services will be held Sat., May 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Rev. Dr. Harold “Diz” Reents, of Living Stones Church in Litchfield, will officiate.  Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery in Atwater.  Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to Adopt-A-Pet Shelter in Benld or Hillsboro Area Health Foundation for the nursing scholarship program in memory of Susan.
