S. Gene Guinn

S. Gene Guinn, 79, of Litchfield, passed away Mon., July 29, 2019 at 4:55 p.m. in HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  He was born on April 1, 1940 in Schram City, IL, a son of Stanley Perdue & Josephine Leona (Adams) Guinn.  Mr. Guinn was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He graduated from Hillsboro High School.  He later worked as a Correctional Officer at Stateville & Vandalia Correctional Facilities.  He then became a police officer and worked for the City of Litchfield for 30 years and retired as Sergeant in 2005.  Gene was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, NRA & a former member of Blue Knights.  He enjoyed bird watching, fishing and hunting.  He married H. Gretchen Buskohl on June 19, 1960 in Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield.  She survives.  He is also survived by:

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, William Guinn; a great-grandchild, Coda Wakefield.

Memorial services will be held Sat., Aug. 3, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Rev. Ed Fogle, of Litchfield, will officiate.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m. in the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O.
