Ronald D. Visintine

Ronald David Visintine, 76, of Litchfield, passed away Mon., May 7, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  He was born on July 8, 1941 in St. Louis, MO, a son of Angelo David & Florence Elizabeth (Crank) Visintine.  He graduated from Assumption High School in East St. Louis and graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist in 1963.  Ron married Donna J. Hessler on August 10, 1963.  They later divorced.  He owned and operated The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Litchfield for 23 years and retired in 2004.  Ron was a member of Holy Family Parish and Knights of Columbus Council #699 in Litchfield. An active member of the community, he served his community in many capacities.   He was a member of the Litchfield Fire Department from 1964 – 2014 where he had served as both Captain and Treasurer. He is survived by:

   3 sons,    Mark (Cindy) Visintine of Bloomington, IL

                  Brian (Cynthe) Visintine of High Ridge, MO

                  Matt (Julie) Visintine of Columbia, IL

   1 brother, Gary Visintine of Springfield, IL

   1 granddaughter, Elizabeth Dugan  

   3 grandsons, Roman A. Visintine; Kyle & Justin Bruno

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Sharon Goodenough.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sat., May 12, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield.  Fr. Dan Willenborg will preside.  Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, IL.  Visitation will be held Friday from  3 – 8 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to Litchfield Volunteer Fire Department or Onward in Faith Campaign (to benefit Zion Lutheran School in Litchfield.)
