Robert Parrish

Robert Glynn Parrish, 88, of Litchfield, passed away Tues., Aug. 14, 2018 at 9:17 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield.  He was born on Oct. 5, 1929 in Litchfield, the son of Occo & Annabelle (Jolley) Parrish.  He graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1948.  He worked at Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield and later with Brubaker Motor Company for 30 years before becoming a partner and parts department manager at M.I. Ford in 1981 in Litchfield.  He was there for 17 years until retiring in 1998 and selling the business to Victory Lane Ford.  Robert was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  He was also a member of Litchfield Jaycees, Litchfield Boy Scouts, Mt. Moriah Lodge #51 A.F. & A.M. for 56 years, Lfd. Antlers Club, Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks & coached little league.  Over the years, Bob served on many boards including Litchfield Zoning Board of Appeals, Litchfield Airport Authority Board, Litchfield Community Savings for several years as well as being a trustee for North Litchfield Township.  He married the former Alice Marie Wolfe on Oct. 28, 1950 in the Methodist Parsonage in Litchfield.  She survives.  In addition to his wife Alice, he is also survived by:

2 grandchildren,                          Kara Shaw & Kyle Taylor

1 great-granddaughter,               Jade Taylor

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held on Sun., Aug. 19, 2018 at 4 p.m. in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  Rev. Cynthia Munker will officiate.  Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield at a later date.  A reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall.  The family suggests memorials to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
