Patricia J. Vaughn

Patricia Jean Vaughn, 86, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 8:32 a.m. at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  She was born August 17, 1931 in Mattoon, IL, a daughter of Robert Patrick and Margaret Essie (King) Schleicher.  She married George Robert Vaughn on April 29, 1950 in Battle Creek, MI.  Mr. Vaughn passed away September 8, 2010. 

Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.  Mrs. Vaughn was a volunteer for many years with the Meals on Wheels program. 

Surviving are:

2 sons, Steve (Jackie) Vaughn of Woodstock, GA and Garry Vaughn of Bethany, IL

2 daughters, Vicky (George) Burrow of St. Peters, MO and Pam (Steve) Grosenheider of Litchfield

11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband George, Mrs. Vaughn is preceded in death by her father, Robert Schleicher; her mother and step-father Margaret and Earl Chamberlain; two sisters Cathy Daniels and Dorothy Lowery.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Vaughn will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The Rev. Cassie Sexton-Riggs will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.  The family suggests memorials to the Union Avenue Christian Church or Coats for Kids.
