Mary A. Crabtree

Mary Alice Crabtree, 93, of Litchfield, died Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12:59 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Center in Litchfield.  She was born March 12, 1924 in Litchfield, a daughter of Levin Harlan and Margaret Frances (Falletti) Christopher.  She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1943.  On May 25, 1946 she married Forrest Eugene Crabtree in East Alton, IL.  He preceded her in death.  Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.  She loved to read and do crossword puzzles.  She enjoyed going to church, bingo and activities. She is survived by:

          3 sons,          James (Jan) Crabtree of Litchfield

                               Bill (Christine) Crabtree of Litchfield

                               Robert (Stephanie) Crabtree of Gillespie

          2 daughters,  Connie (Ken) Grogan of Washington, IL

                                Margaret Ann “Maggie” Knutson of Litchfield

          18 grandchildren

          36 great-grandchildren

          13 great-great-grandchildren

          1 sister,         Patricia Gyzen of Kansas City, MO

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest; 4 brothers, George Christopher, Harlan Christopher, Robert Christopher and Earl Christopher; 3 sisters, Ruth Lowe, Martha Tiernan and Helen Harmon, a son-in-law Ronnie Knutson; 2 grandchildren, Terry Grogan and Scott Grogan; and a great-grandchild Tyler Benton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.  Rev. James Tinzmann, of St. Timothy United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.  Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the church.  The family suggests memorials to St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.
