Jane M. Bachstein

Jane Marie Bachstein, 76, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 3:05 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Born November 30, 1941, a daughter of Walter and Luella (Buske) Sewing.  She graduated from Litchfield Community High School Class of 1959 and was seated on the Homecoming Court.  She married Charles Bachstein and they later divorced.  Mrs. Bachstein worked for several years at The Gardens as a waitress.   Mrs. Bachstein was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice.

3 nieces; Kelli Lewis of Greenview, IL

                Martha Johnson of Hillsboro, IL

                Angela Myers of Ft. Collins, CO

5 Nephews:  Kirk Sewing of Taylor Springs, IL

                       Steven (Annette) Frerichs of Elgin, IL

                       Daniel (Kerri) Frerichs of Sullivan, IL

                       Andrew (Jessica) Frerichs of Litchfield, IL

                       Thomas (Mary Ann) Frerichs of Litchfield, IL

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bachstein was preceded in death by a bother Kenneth Sewing and a sister, Ruth Ann Frerichs.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  The Rev. Fred Kraemer will officiate and burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. The family suggests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church.
