Grace E. (Reener) Holden

Grace Elizabeth “Aunt Grace” Holden, 79, of Litchfield, passed away Fri., May 25, 2018 at 2:27 p.m. in HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.  She was born on Aug. 28, 1938 in Litchfield, IL, a daughter of Roy Orin & Myron Edna (Cloud) Reener.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and guests.  Grace worked at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield in her earlier years and later worked at Heritage Manor in Gillespie as a CNA.  Her first marriage was to James Albert Pruitt and he preceded her in death.  She later married Leonard LaVern Holden.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2017.   She enjoyed living in the country with her husband Leonard, and loved taking care of her animals, especially her cats.  She is survived by:

   1 son,              Gary (Jan) Pruitt of Litchfield

   2 stepsons,      Mike (Jeanne) Holden of Witt

                           Steve Holden of Litchfield

   2 brothers,       Ivan “Gene” Reener of Butler

                           Ronald (Lynn) Reener of Litchfield

   1 grandson,     Scott Pruitt (companion, Allie Zajda)

   1 step-granddaughter, Michelle (Bret) Reeves

   2 step-great-grandchildren, Alli & Nate Reeves

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 2 brothers, James “Bud” Reener & Roy L. Reener; 2 sisters, Edna Reener & Leeta Crawford.

Graveside memorial services will be held Mon., June 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in Crabtree Cemetery in rural Litchfield.  Family & friends will line up at 5:45 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield to go in procession to the cemetery.  Rev. Oley Lawson, of Walshville, will officiate.  No visitation will be held.  The family suggests memorials to Crabtree Cemetery Association.
