Genevie Fellers Obituary

 

Genevie Lorraine Fellers, 98, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Litchfield, passed away Tues., Oct. 16, 2018 at 9:59 a.m. in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.  She was born on Aug. 25, 1920 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Kenneth A. & Opal F. (Clark) Snow.  She graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1938.  While living in Litchfield, she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Over the years, she worked as a medical office clerk for American Hospital Supply in Kansas City, MO.  While living in Texas, she worked as a legal secretary. Genevie married Francis Tal Fellers on Dec. 30, 1938 in Litchfield.  He preceded her in death on Mar. 19, 1999.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing cards, painting, singing, collecting antiques and spending time with her family.  After retiring, she and her husband owned and operated Treasures & Trivia Antiques in Litchfield.  She is survived by:

 

   1 son,              Dennis (Lori) Fellers of Mattoon

   2 daughters,    Peggy (David) Simpson;

                           Fran (Hal) Simpson; ALL of Decatur

   2 brothers,       Ken Snow of California

                           Ed Snow of Texas                        

   12 grandchildren

   32 great-grandchildren

   12 great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 brother, Bob Snow; her infant granddaughter, Lisa Simpson and grandson-in-law, Jake Lessen.

 

Private family graveside funeral services will be held Sat., Oct. 20, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield.  Family will gather at 11:45 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield to go in procession to the cemetery.  Deacon Leland Johns, of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro, will officiate.  The family suggests memorials to Adopt-A-Pet Shelter in Benld or Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis - Please make checks payable to: Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation, 3800 Park Avenue, St. Louis, MO, 63110 or donate online at glennon.org or by phone at 314 - 577 - 5605.
