Floyd Earl Stanton, 91, of Donnellson, passed away on Sun., Nov. 11, 2018 at 12:40 p.m. in HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. He was born on June 30, 1927 in Bond County (Lagrange Township), IL, a son of Wilbur Allen & Bertha Viola (Wilderman) Stanton. Floyd was a Veteran of WWII with the U.S. Navy. He graduated Greenville High School with the Class of 1946. He was employed as a truck driver with Clark Oil Refinery in Wood River/South Roxana. Floyd was a member of the VFW Post 6628 in Panama, & Teamsters. He enjoyed putting in a large garden, building birdhouses, and tinkering. Floyd was married to the former Virginia Bernice Reeves. She preceded him in death on Nov. 3, 1999. He is survived by:
1 granddaughter, Lindsay (Kevin) Davidson of Butler
2 great-grandchildren, Brooke & Kennedy Davidson
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; wife Virginia; 1 daughter, Beverly Dickerson; 3 brothers, Edward “Dale” Stanton; Clifford Stanton; & Carl Stanton; 3 sisters, Mildred Schutz; Verna Pahlman; & Norma Ford.
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Mr. Stanton. His remains were donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. The family suggests memorials to Montgomery County Animal Control.
