Florence J. Furlow, 81, of Litchfield, formerly of Irving, passed away Tues., Feb. 13, 2018 at 11:20 a.m. in Pleasant Hill Village in Girard. She was born on Sept. 25, 1936 in Loami, IL, a daughter of William Herman & Viola Belle (Hughes) Stockamp. Florence was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro & a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #581 in Litchfield. Over the years, she had worked at Brown Shoe Company in Litchfield. She had also worked as a waitress and as a caregiver for Community Care Systems in Springfield for many years. She enjoyed camping with her family & friends. Her hobbies included doing puzzles and embroidery work. She married Harold Douglas on Oct. 23, 1953. They were married 24 years then divorced. On Sept. 26, 1981, she married Ronald L. Furlow. They were married for 36 years. He survives. She is also survived by:

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Loren & Robert Stockamp; 1 sister, Marian Gerl.
Funeral services will be held Sat., February 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Rev. Jeff Hemken will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 7 at the church. The family suggests memorials to Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro or Pleasant Hill Village (Alzheimer’s Unit C) in Girard.
