Dee Johnson

Dee Ann Johnson, 68, of Benld, formerly of Litchfield, passed away Wed. Sept. 26, 2018 at 2:44 p.m. in her home.  She was born on Jan. 1, 1950 in Hampton, IA, a daughter of Ira Clarence & Anna Divina (Schwennen) Schwab.  Dee was employed by Modern Finance Company in St. Louis and had worked in the Collections Department.  She enjoyed being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their sporting events.  She was known for planting a large garden, tending to her plants, and enjoyed canning.  She married Keevin Clarence Johnson on Apr. 1, 1967 in Dumont, IA.  He preceded her in death on Apr. 23, 2001.

She is survived by:

   2 sons,             Michael A. Johnson (Jamie Moore) of St. Louis, MO

                           Travis L. Johnson (Judy Holbert) of Henderson, IL

   2 daughters,    Nicki S. (Allen) McClary of Staunton, IL

                           Tammi L. (Lonnie) Mixen of Litchfield, IL

   2 brothers,       Dennis (Shirley) Schwab of Dumont, IA

                           Donald (Laura) Schwab of Hampton, IA

   3 sisters,          Denise Crosby (Rev. Jerry Avise-Rouse) of Parkersburg, IA

                           Donna (Dave) Uhlennhop of Hampton, IA

                           Danette Johnson of Brooklyn, IA

   16 grandchildren

   20 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 grandson, Derek Sanborn.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Sept. 29, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  Rev. Jerry Avise-Rouse of United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, IA, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to Gillespie High School Boys Basketball.
