David Allen Stowe, 80, of Litchfield, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 1:35 a.m. in HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Born April 16, 1939 in Litchfield, A son of Almus and Helen (Winkleblack) Stowe. He graduated from Litchfield Community High School with the Class of 1957. He married the former Jaqueline “Jackie” Joyce Schmitt on January 25, 1958 at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Evans. She survives.
Mr. Stowe was a tool and die maker by trade. He worked at the former International Paper Co, Consumer Plastics Corp., both in Litchfield. He then worked in St. Louis for several years and retired from Sierra Supply Co. in Litchfield in 2003.
A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Litchfield where he taught Sunday School, served on the Building and Grounds Committee, and served in various other capacities and was a member of the Church Choir for several years. He was also a member of the Litchfield School Board. Mr. Stowe enjoyed working on and restoring cars.

Three sons, Jeffrey (Nancy) Stowe of Owatonna, MN; John (Rhonda) Stowe of Maryville, IL and Scott Stowe of Litchfield.
Eight grandchildren; Dan (Sara) Stowe, Ryan (Michelle) Stowe, Sam (Allie) Stowe, Patrick (Charity) Stowe, Amy (Gary) Enfield, Felicia (Josh) Mohre, Hailey (Chris) Brandmiller and Shelby (Hunter) Sutton.
Five great-grandchildren; Kenley, Cameron, Fallon and Addison Stowe, and Piper Brandmiller.
Funeral services for Mr. Stowe will be conducted Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. Rev. Jason Plumer will officiate, and burial will be in the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Litchfield.
