Christopher B. O'Roake

Christopher Bernard “Chris” O’Roake, 56, of Litchfield, passed away Sat., Sept. 29, 2018 at 5:20 p.m. in his home.  He was born on Apr. 7, 1962 in Newton, IA, the son of Carl Bernard & Ann (Breckenridge) O’Roake.  He graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1980.  Chris was employed by Wal-Mart in Litchfield as the Produce Manager.  He previously owned and operated Fat Freddy’s Pizza and was Store Manager of Nyman’s Grocery, both in Creve Coeur, IL.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and racing cars.  He was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.  Chris married Julie Ann Strong on May 5, 1984.  She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2002.  On Aug. 29, 2015, he married Christine Alice Hessel.  She survives.  Also surviving are:

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Oct. 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. in St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield.  Rev. Robert A. Herath will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  The family suggests memorials to St. Timothy United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen
