Charles Leland Bockewitz

Charles “Charlie” Leland Bockewitz, 65, of Belleville, IL passed away at his home on February 11, 2018.  He was born in Litchfield, IL on May 24, 1952.  A son of Leland “Brock” and Darlene (Gilbert) Bockewitz of Morrisonville, IL. 

He was a graduate of Morrisonville High School, class of 1970.

Charlie was self-employed, owning a water treatment business and installing satellite dishes for over 40 years.  He enjoyed music, movies, gardening and travel.  Charles married the former Mary Lynn Wilson in 1973 and they later divorced.

Charlie is survived by his 3 daughters; Carrie (Shane) Yearian, Katie (Josh) Taylor and Tracy (Bob) Kelly.  7 grandchildren; Grace and Hope Yearian, Ashlynn, Alexis and Colton Taylor, and William and Mackenzie Kelly.  He is also survived by his 4 brothers; Bob (Georgia) Bockewitz, Tom (Sharon) Bockewitz, Ron (Debbie) Bockewitz, Paul Bockewitz and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Hunter Yearian.

A service of remembrance for Charles, will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield, IL   The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
