Betty J Wendel

Betty Jane Wendel, 80, of Litchfield, passed away Fri., June 15, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. in her home.  She was born on July 23, 1937 in Lewistown, PA, a daughter of Edward & Dorothy (Corson) Henry.  She graduated high school and worked as a Dietary Asst. at St. Francis Hospital for 18 years, until she retired.  She previously worked at the State of IL, for the Dept. of Children & Family Services.  Betty was a member of the Women of the Moose.  She enjoyed antiquing, traveling and visiting historic sites, and spending time with her family.  Betty married August John Wendel on Nov. 5, 1958 in Litchfield.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2006.  She is survived by:

   3 daughters,     Crystal (Larry) Epps of Litchfield

                              Jenny (Doug) Pezold of Walshville

                              Selena (Mark) Brazel of Litchfield

   3 brothers,        Terry (Joanne) Henry of Burnham, PA

                              George (Thelma) Henry of Lewistown, PA

                              Robert Henry of Holiday, FL

14 grandchildren, Dustin (Stacey) Wendel; Mitch (Paula) Wendel; Sidney (Corey) Clark; KayLynn Carter (comp. James Rhodes); John Carter (comp. Tanya  Sellers); Kevin Carter (fian. Amie Dever); Seth Epps; Brittney (Dane) Fletcher; Logan (Shawna) Pezold; Layton Pezold (comp. Eaden Fleming); Brooke Pezold; Ceara Brazel (fian. Schuyler Kalaher); Adam Brazel (comp. Taylor Gutierrez) & Hannah Brazel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband August John Wendel; 1 sister, Patsy Henry-McCaffrey.

Visitation will be held Wed., Jun. 20, 2018 from 4-8 pm. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.  A private family graveside committal service will be held Sat., Jun. 23, 2018 at 11 am. at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.  Memorials are suggested to the family of Betty J.
