Arthur Leo Malcom

December 8, 1938 ~ June 18, 2018 (age 79)

Arthur Leo Malcom, 79, of Hillsboro passed away on Mon., June 18, 2018 at 10:50 p.m. in Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro.  He was born on Dec. 8, 1938 in Dederick, MO, a son of Everett Leo & Lucille Elizabeth (Kimbro) Malcom.  Arthur was a veteran of the US Marine Corps where he served during peacetime.  He was self employed and owned Malcom Electric for 30 years.  He previously worked as an electrician & welder for Schein Equip. Co. in Carlinville, as well as a mold board set-up man for Milling Bulldozer Blades at Allis-Chalmers/Fiat Allis in Springfield.  Arthur was ABS Certified, and US Coast Guard Certified in all his welding positions.  He was a member of United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, where he enjoyed bible study group.  He was a member and post commander of Kniery-Knagg Post 436 American Legion, Marine Corps League, Hillsboro Senior Citizens, and a volunteer at Quad County Hospice in Pana.  Arthur enjoyed dancing, pinochle, cryptograms, reading, pitching horseshoes, bowling & woodworking. He married Kathy Hacket in 1959, they later divorced.  Arthur married Judy L. Voyles in 1975, they later divorced.  Arthur was united in blessing to Betty J. Rhodes in 2015 in Hillsboro.  She survives.  He is also survived by:

1 brother,               Edward Kimbro of Highland

5 sisters,                Dorothy Vincent of Taylor Springs;

                              Sue Gual of Kansas City, KS

                              Nadine Ford of Pana;

                              Virginia Ford of Pana;

                              Alice Grimm of Pana

1 grandchild,          Corey

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, toddler, Orin Kimbro; & Allen Kimbro in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Fri., June 22, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.  Rev. Ralph Ward will preside.  Funeral dinner will follow services.  Graveside committal will be at 2 pm at Moro Cemetery in Moro, IL.  Visitation will be held from 10 am until service time at the United Methodist Church.  The family suggests memorials to Lfd.
