Anna Mae Scheldt, 92, of Litchfield, passed away on Tues., Oct. 29, 2019 at 10:22 p.m. at Evergreen Place in Litchfield. She was born on Jan. 21, 1927, a daughter of Stewart & Anna Myrtle (Westfall) Barker, in Virden, IL. Anna married Elmer Harry (Jake) Scheldt, Jr. on April 12, 1947 in Virden, IL. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2007. She was a homemaker. Anna was also a bus driver for the Litchfield Community School District #12. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Litchfield. Anna was a member and past Sr. Regent of the Women of the Moose in Litchfield, and an election judge for several years. She hosted rotary foreign exchange students and she and husband were foster care parents. Anna enjoyed camping & boating. She loved to cook and was known for her peanut brittle recipe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers, Lorris Tolliver; Lesley Tolliver; John D. Barker; George W. Barker; James H. Barker; 2 sisters, Alegria Barker-Kogen; Elizabeth “Betty” Barker-Rimini, & 1 son-in-law, Brian Braye.
Funeral services will be held Sat., Nov. 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Bishop Lonnie Bruce of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Fri., Nov. 1, 2019 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Coats for Kids.
