Harold W. Engelman

June 15, 1914 - December 01, 2011

Harold William “Spud” Engelman, 97, of Butler, died Thurs., Dec. 1, 2011 at 3:22 p.m. in Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs. He was born on June 15, 1914 in Zanesville Twp. South of Raymond, IL, a son of William Mitchel & Anna Johanna (Baumann) Engelman. He attended Raymond schools. Mr. Engelman was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard & served during WWII. He was a farmer in both Zanesville Twp. & Butler Grove Twp. all of his life. He was a member of A Community of Faith Church & American Legion Triple Star Post #299, both in Raymond, and was also a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He married Lucille Averne Bugg on Dec. 19, 1952 in Raymond. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2003. He will be sadly missed by:

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille; 2 brothers, Willard “Jess” Engelman & Mitchel Engelman; 3 sisters, Lucille Beatty, Velma Ehlert & Mildred Daggett; a nephew, Stephen Engelman; a niece, Claire Turner.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Mon., Dec. 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Robert Sherman, Interim Pastor of Community of Faith Church in Raymond, will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to American Legion Post #299 in Raymond.
