Marilyn Himstedt, 91, of Litchfield, died Wed., Dec. 11, 2013 at 6:58 a.m. in Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care in Litchfield. She was born on Feb. 27, 1922 in Morrisonville, IL, a daughter of John C. & Geneva (Draper) Wade. She graduated from Morrisonville High School with the Class of 1941 and from St. Louis Business College in St. Louis, MO. She was employed as a bookkeeper for American Surety Company, Thomas Publishing Company and Illinois Hatchery and was known for her good record keeping skills. She was also self-employed as a seamstress for many years. Marilyn was a member of Barnett Christian Church & Macoupin County Farm Bureau in Carlinville. In her leisure time, she enjoyed doing crafts. She married Luther Russell Himstedt on Mar. 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1958. She is survived by:

Funeral services will be held Sun., Dec. 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Al Chaney, pastor of Faith Christian Fellowship in Litchfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
