Henry B. Battin

Henry Bernard Battin, 74, of Reeds Spring, MO, formerly of Litchfield, died Tues., Jan. 10, 2012 at 4:00 a.m. in his home. He was born on May 7, 1937 in Greeley, IA, a son of Charles & Lorrene M. (Kruger) Battin. Mr. Battin was a career veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired on June 1, 1984. He was a member of American Legion Post #637 in Kimberling City, MO, & enjoyed golfing in his leisure time. He later worked at Echlin Manufacturing in Litchfield as a lab tech. He married Virginia Katherine Minick on July 29, 1987 in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She survives. He is also survived by:

1 daughter, Aimee (Dan) Battin Pelarski of Metamora
1 stepson, Steve (Brenda) Lawless;
3 stepdaughters, Katherine (Cary) Bryan;
Deborah Simmons, ALL of Streator
Melissa Lawless of Normal
1 sister, Joyce (Eugene) Harbough of Manchester, IA
8 grandchildren
1 great grandson
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Robert Battin; 1 sister, Janice Carlson.

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Sat., Jan. 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Rev. Jay Johnson, Senior Pastor of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Tonica Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
